Do you have the action alerts set to display if an alert occurs? They had me do a PRAM start up, hold down Command+R & Option+P while booting up.   • I looked carefully at my task manager and processes and there doesn't seem to be an uploader or some other application shifting my application selection.
  • I re-installed OS X Mavericks (restart while holding Command+R, follow instructions to turn on mouse/trackpad, select re-install OS X - took about an hour).
  • This saved me from SO much frustration I HAD to register to thank you!
  • It doesn't render my computer useless, but it sure does slow down my productivity.
