I have tried to install Vista SP2 and got the BSoDeath mentioned above. My question is this…is this the exact same update or did Windows correct the problem and this update is trustworthy? Thanks again…. Five minute lifesaver!

There is a free utility available online called bluescreenview. The update log does show kb973879 being installed, though. all sorts of explanations. I can't believe Microsoft did not send a bulletin regarding this MAJOR issue.
